Hey, Annie here. I can’t believe another decade came and went! With each new decade comes fashion and make-up trends. They even change year by year, month by month…
I don’t know about you, but I’m always dying to learn more about new styles. At the very least, you can apply what you’ve learned from this blog to your real life, aka, become a trendsetter.
Keep on scrolling to get a preview of my best prediction of the top makeup trends for 2020. You don’t want to miss out on the hot styles of the year.
I heard that the Pantone Color Institute announced that the color of the year is a classic blue. Shades of blue have a calming effect on the mind.
This is why bedrooms are often painted a soft blue. What about eyeshadow? The last time I put on a baby blue eyeshadow I took my own breath away! There are so many shades and colors to work with.
There’s indigo that mimics the twilight sky, baby blue, or sapphire. If you have blue eyes, blue shadow will make your eyes pop. Make sure you pick out the right shade for your hair and skin tone!
Excuse me? You read that correctly. Putting star stickers beneath the eyes are predicted to be a top trend. Tiny star stickers that go right below the bottom eyeliner line are all the rage.
You don’t have to be a hippie festival goer to try out this trend; it’s for everyone. If you’re feeling a little blue, the star sticker trend will definitely lift your spirits. Next time you’re getting ready to go out, pop a sticker on your face! It’s easy, and it’s fun, so why not?
Every time you look in the mirror you’ll smile and feel like the star that you are!
It seems like everyone in Hollywood wears dark lipstick once per season. I’m not talking about classic red. I’m talking about almost-black.
If you look closely, you’ll see that it’s not black, but it appears that way from afar. This might have been considered a bold fashion move, but it’s supposedly going to be a top trend! Still, don’t go for this as your regular lipstick. Pull out the deeply dark lipstick when you really want to turn heads- so, like, once per week!
It doesn’t matter if you’re tan or pale, give this move a go. Make sure to pair it with a solid, neutral outfit.
Having a heavy face of foundation is not in this season. It’s all about the natural, more translucent make-ups. You want a little bit of shimmer but not coats of make-up.
We all want to achieve that polished veneer. I thought I had to do this with a full layer of liquid concealer or a pressed base foundation. I guess not!
Less is more with this new trend. It’s not just true for foundation- when you’re applying bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow, or liquid liner, try out sheer makeup.
There’s nothing quite as beautiful as a pearl. They’re classically good looking; a token of elegance and classiness.
Many people have been spotted with craft pearls around the eye. The bottoms are sticky, making them easy to stick to the skin. Is this a trend you can see yourself getting into? Put a handful of craft pearls around your eyes. You could put one in the center of your bottom eyeliner line.
Then, stick one below the end of your eyebrow and two more near the front of your eye, right next to the spot where the eye meets the skin. Again, this trend seems like a trend for a seasoned rave-goer, but it’s for everyone. Grab some pearls and wear them on the streets!
If you try out some of these trends, everyone is sure to take a second glance at your drop-dead good looks. Yes, these are bold looks, but if you have the confidence to pull it off, anything is possible.
You’ll certainly turn some heads. Before the end of the year, you’ll see a lot of the color blue, dark shades of lipstick, stars and pearls above my eyes, and sheer make-up. I know I could use some more of these trends in my life!
I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely going to pull out the dark lipstick for my next night out. Thanks for reading my blog!
