We all want to have an incredible workout each time we lay down our mat to exercise, right? Today, I'm going to talk about a few ways that you can achieve a stellar workout- every single time.
All it takes is a little bit of preparation, effort, and mental concentration. Remember to break a sweat and have some fun with it! We all have days where we don't exactly enjoy our workout.
Still, if that is happening too often, it's time to switch things up. If you want to have some fun the next time you exercise, scroll down.
When you forget to stretch you'll be in a world of pain! My hamstrings and calves feel tight just thinking about it. Ouch!
Remember, each muscle is working hard when you exercise, so it's important to stretch them out before and after a workout. Before launching into an intense move, warm up your muscles by jogging in place for a few minutes. This way you won't put unnecessary stress on your muscles.
You don't have to stretch for hours- 10 minutes will be plenty of time for your muscles to warm up or cool down, respectively.
Benefits of stretching:
Music really helps me get in the mood to workout! It pumps me up and keeps me continuously motivated to give 100% of my effort.
Taking the time to create a playlist that gets you excited to move your body will be so worth it. There's nothing worse than listening to the radio, jamming on a workout, when a slow and depressing song starts playing.
I'm not trying to cry right now, I'm trying to break a sweat! It's like I went from feeling on top of the world to...blah! Do you want to know what's frustrating? Interrupting your workout to switch a song.
I highly recommend searching for a Spotify playlist or a Pandora station beforehand. These songs will help you get your groove on during a workout.
Please don't starve yourself to lose that vanity weight. It's just not worth it. You want to fuel your body with nutritious food so it can function properly during a workout.
Let's talk about some healthy and delicious pre-workout and post-workout foods. You want to eat foods that will give you lots of energy!
Pre-workout snack ideas:
For a post-workout snack you're going to want to have:
A few popular post-workout snacks and light meals are chocolate milk, chia-seed pudding, quinoa, rice-cakes, cottage cheese, eggs, nut butters, avocados.
Unless your doctor tells you to workout on an empty stomach, it's not necessarily the best idea. It can be painful. Don't forget to consume some healthy snacks before and after you exercise!
No one likes to walk away from a workout and think to themselves - I could have tried harder. When you set up to exercise, you want to give it your all! Give a full effort through the duration of the workout.
When you push yourself past your comfort zone, you'll be so proud of yourself. Plus, that's when positive body transformation occurs. Remember, if you're working out too long and too hard every single day, your body may get worn out.
If you're feeling truly wiped, consider shortening your workout, eating a snack, or getting more rest. Continuing could cause strain and injury.
When your body says, "I don't really feel like moving today," that is mental resistance. You've got to overcome it because you know the many health benefits of working out. You'll be so happy that you did!
I hope this blog post helps you have the best workout of your life! You deserve to have some fun while you break a sweat. Exercising doesn't have to be this grueling process that you dread each day.
If you decide that you want to have a good time, you can make that happen. Don't forget to give your best effort, stretch and eat healthy snacks before and after a workout, and find an upbeat playlist.
